Simon Russell

Simon Russell has worked in the residential construction industry for more than 23 years, with the past 15 years spent as part of the team at Signature Homes Nelson.
Prior to joining the Nelson franchise’s high-performing sales team, Simon was a project manager for the business for more than five years. He’s a qualified boat builder by trade and previously owned his own design business that specialised in creating plans and dealing with councils. This varied experience ensures Simon is well-versed in the process of building a new home.
Simon’s approach to his job is driven by the belief that building a new home should be a no-fuss, enjoyable experience where clients are guided through every step of the building process, receiving honest feedback backed by years of experience.
Simon is a self-proclaimed ‘people person’ who loves nothing more than sitting down face-to-face to work through the many queries that can pop up throughout the building process. Simon loves helping clients achieve their goals. From investment properties to first homes or high-end design and build projects his work ethic and attention to detail remain the same as reflected by the awards listed below.

My role as a new home consultant is to make sure that we work through a very detailed planning process to capture everything you want to achieve in your new home.
During my 9 years at Signature Homes I have been involved in over 140 local homes from beautifully simple and modest homes though to very complex design and build projects.
I will bring my experience and expertise to ensure your dreams are brought to life and also make sure you are not exposed to any risk.
As we work together your budget will be respected and your ideas challenged.
The end result will be everything you want and more, whilst making sure you have a very clear understanding of how decisions affect your budget and careful exploration of your ideas to make sure we improve them where possible.
Each year, for the past 9 years, I have received multiple national awards for my service and client focus—and many more nominations including national finalist for 2015 and 2016 NHC of the Year and the Signature Homes New Home Consultant of the year for 2017 winner.

Angus Murdoch
New Home Consultant
Angus has worked for Signature Homes for over 6 years. He started off as a Signature Homes customer and built his first home in Brightwater. He enjoyed the building process so much that he approached Simon Bixley for a job!
As a New Home Consultant, he now helps others experience the same process and guides clients in the planning and designing of their homes. Having worked in construction in London and Europe he brings many diverse strengths and ideas to his consulting.
Having built his own home, he understands all facets of construction and the quality Signature provides. Providing premium quality at a great price, Angus is proud of our great team and robust systems that provide direction on the building process.
Driven to deliver excellent results for his clients, Angus believes building a new home should be exciting, transparent with open communication and most importantly, easy. He understands individual client requirements and needs, and builds relationships based on trust and confidence. Happy to move at his client’s pace and provide guidance on every step of their journey is of utmost importance.
In his spare time, Angus enjoys Mountain Biking, Skiing and Boating with his friends and family, and Coaching Junior Rugby.

Ian Reeves
Project Manager
Ian brings a wealth of industry experience to his role at Signature Homes Nelson & Tasman, having dedicated 27 years to the field of construction.
His journey began as a skilled builder, embarking on an apprenticeship and subsequently establishing himself as a self-employed professional. Over his career, Ian has handled various aspects of construction, including commercial, new build residential, and renovation projects.
With more than four years as a project manager, he has consistently aimed to provide top-notch service. Ian's philosophy centers around making the home-building process enjoyable, exciting, and stress-free for clients.
Ian's dedication shines through his commitment to always delivering his best work, upholding a standard of excellence. Working within a fantastic team, Ian thrives in an environment where expertise and positivity are the norm. Personally, he finds unwavering support from his wife and finds joy in the presence of his two children.
Ian's qualifications include a National and Trade Certificate in Carpentry and a License as a Building Practitioner. His excellence was recognised by being named a finalist for Project Manager of the Year at the National Signature Homes Conference.
